Innova Dynamics was spun out of the University of Pennsylvania, originally as Innova Materials, and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Our focus on high performance and sustainable solutions reflects our company's origin—our original challenge was to develop a low cost solution for addressing urgent water quality problems in the developing world. Today, Innova Dynamics pairs continuing its social mission with broadening its quest, using its Innlay™ platform technology to bring progress made in advanced materials and cleantech to the global mass market.

Innova Dynamics was founded on the premise that helping to solve the problems of the developing world creates inherent technological and business value of relevance that transcends socioeconomic boundaries. The company is committed to creating a sustainable future both locally and internationally, particularly through its research and partnerships in sanitation/health, water purification, and clean energy.
Sanitation/health
Innova Dynamics' IonArmour® antimicrobial division was inspired by bacterial contamination in potable water systems used in the developing world, and combatting microbial contamination in the water supply has emerged as an important problem. Innova Dynamics is committed to helping to address this issue. In addition, the company is committed to exploring the role of antimicrobial technology in preventing the spread of infectious disease in the developing world, and evaluating the technology's role in mitigating prevalent life-threatening conditions such as childhood diarrhea, while being cognizant of what is considered "appropriate technology" in different contexts.
Water purification
It was dedication to the cause for global clean water that inspired Innova Dynamics to spin out Hydros Bottle, a social venture focused on providing an easy-to-use system for drinking clean water on the go (targeting municipal water sources initially). Proceeds not only support efforts to bring the technology to the developing world, but also directly fund sustainable development water projects worldwide that make use of local resources and skills.
In addition to these efforts, Innova Dynamics has been active in supporting student education in sustainable development work with a focus on clean water causes. Work includes collaborating with the University of Pennsylvania to co-sponsor student field research abroad, and volunteering to help with water tech operations of Engineers without Borders.
Clean energy
The need for clean and sustainable energy sources has emerged as one of humanity's most important long-term challenges. While alternative energy such as solar energy, wind energy, wave energy, and clean fuels have been in development or commercialized for decades, they are still cost prohibitive for most developing communities. Innova Dynamics is working on creating a future where clean energy production is possible under a cost structure that is compatible with developing world requirements, enabled using locally-produced materials.
